spooking a deer

RE: spooking a deer
I wouldn' t worry about it. Hunting season isn' t for awhile yet. Deer get spooked by stuff all the time. They might avoid that area for a day or two, and maybe be a little guarded there for a couple days, but as long as you didn' t stand there and beat pots and pans and yell at ' em, they won' t stay gone for long.

i agree...theyll be back if they even went far...if not it would be impossible to build treestands and have deer come near again becuase that pounding ect has to spook them....your deer will be back soon dont worry...ive small game hunted right through the area i hunt on saturday and hunt it on monday....never hurts anything......

Nothing to worry about, as long as you are not frequenting the place you spooked them they will be back, heck I have spooked deer during the season and they were back the next day, that doesn' t hold true all the time, but spooking them during the off season is no issue.

All the replys you were give were accurate. I try to learn each and every time I go into the deer woods. Why was he spooked, what did I do, etc?? It' s certainly OK to make mistakes while hunting, God only knows how many I have made.....that being said, I try never to make the same mistake twice.....

I agree, and if it was a young deer it may come back the same day if they think its safe to investigate out of there sometimes fatal curiosity. Last season after I shot a nice buck, a spike came back who saw the whole thing happen and came back. (I shoot spikes because they have poor genetics.) When he saw what happened he was knocked off his feet.
