I am a little unclear if we are only talking about hunting boots or boots in general, but for everyday work wear, I am a Redwing fan. My only complaint about Redwing as a company is that as soon as I find a style that I like they are usually discontinued (example models 1183 and 2283). I raise cattle and own a farm service business and have tried Rockies and Danners, but neither held up in the environment that I work in. Both Rocky and Danner boots that I have worn are very comfortable, and I am sure would make great "hunting" boots. I generally wear the same clothes and boots from the cow pasture to the deer stand and have found that cow crap on my bootsmakes a great cover scent, but "hunting" boots don't hold up well in cow crap. Just my observation.

For rubber boots I like LaCrosse, My boys and I wear Browning in cold weather and they are very good for us. I wear cowboy boots most of the time -all different brands when not hunting and recently bought a pair of Ariat's. Most comfortable pair I ever had. Then I bought a pair of non-insulated hunting Ariat's for hunting Coues deer and elk in AZ. They were great. Only thing I was disappointed about was they were made in China. Think it is pathetic to have cowboy boots made in China - just isn't right.

I looked at the Dannerboots last night on-line and the antelopes looked like a great choice, and at 2.75 pounds per pair they fit one of my biggest needs. At about $175 per pair isn't bad either.

ive had several pairs of rocky boots and all have held up very well. the only pair that only lasted a couple of years are a pair i beat the crap out of on the fire crew. i ordered a new pair just the other day too and was very excited when i saw that they are using the goodyear soles now.

I wear out more boots trying to get the right ones. Gortex, while comfortable, don't hold up. Muck boots are comfortable but are noisy and the uppers have ripped on me. I've owned Colombia’s, Rockies and Wolverines, but I've found Lacrosse the best for me. Comfortable and waterproof but I am worried about them being made in China now. Figures, as soon as find something that works, they change it.
As far as work boots there are only Redwings. Too darned expensive, but they're a quality product.

Only boots I like are LaCrosse Alphas for wet areas and Danners Hawks for a field boot then for hikers for stuff like shed hunting, hanging stands, and scouting I like either my Merrells or my Danner Radicals both with GoreTex.
