I wear out more boots trying to get the right ones. Gortex, while comfortable, don't hold up. Muck boots are comfortable but are noisy and the uppers have ripped on me. I've owned Colombia’s, Rockies and Wolverines, but I've found Lacrosse the best for me. Comfortable and waterproof but I am worried about them being made in China now. Figures, as soon as find something that works, they change it.

As far as work boots there are only Redwings. Too darned expensive, but they're a quality product.
