Default Too many deer camp rules

One of the things I hate about hunting clubs is when they have too many complicated rules for everything--having guests, managing the herd, developing quality bucks, etc. But I just heard about a camp here in Arkansas that has found a way to accomplish all their goals with one simple rule: Whatever you shoot, you have to mount. I thought that was a terrific idea. You can bring all the guests you want, but the rule applies to them, too. That keeps a lot of guests away in the first place, and the people that do show up are sure going to think twice before they shoot if they know its a $300 committment everytime they squeeze the trigger! Does anybody else have a similar rule? This was the first time I've ever heard of it.

We have no such thing as a hunting club where I hunt(alberta). But we only get one tag a year.If you kill a deer you are done for the year.If the deer is small the rest of the guys really rub in the fact that you can't hunt anymore because you took a small deer.

That has been a self imposed rule for anybody that hunts my property with two exceptions. Does are excluded and you have a choice on bucks Mount it or pay $250.00.

man thats a really good role! and im sure it works...i would never pay 250-300$ to shoot a small deer i wouldnt want mounted than pay 100 more for the meat that i would want!...i never heard of a hunting club around here either...guess thats because of the "if its brown its down" way of hunting here....good luck with yours though!

I for one don't like that rule and would never implement one like that. first my guys would leave me and then how do i pay my leases?
I do say don't shoot him unless you would be proud to show him! and i do rib them HARD for shooting young bucks and you know they have started thinking.
How would you inforce the rule? i have only mounted two bucks in my life and i hunt alot. for the past three years that all i did in the fall. i just wouldnt do that.
Scrider1 that would be a very hard rule to enforce in arkansas a lot of people here depend on the meat and look forward to the relief in the grocery bill. i look forward to filling my freezer with venison, first it's good and cheap, but i don't do it out of need like some but it helps trust me. my kids are raised on venison!
you know how many people hunt and just make jerky or give the meat away? or the sorry SOB's that just take the antlers? ALOT!!!!!! i know a few . dang thats could be whole nother post " USELESS SOB HUNTERS OR HUNTER WANT TO BE'S"
Anyway i know you probably know this being from arkansas. I pecked my opinion now i can go!
