dont think we are making the massey shoot either. Was going to and hit the tal first thing friday morning with a couple buddies. I was a lil shocked when I found they couldnt cast let alone of the gear and at 100 bucks a pop from here to talkeetna with charter up, not to mention shoot etc, we put the lid on that idea. So its another year I am out for the massey shoot........watchout grayling/burbot [>:]

coming to alaska aug 23 to sept7 to hunt caribou with west wind outfitters out of illiamna.will be hunting 17b and 19b i think .any suggestions on gear would be appreciated .what temp. range can i expect besides rain..is microfleece better than wool ? also what is actual trophy possibility?is b/c caribou, and black bear possible?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,thanks people

that should be a great time just need to be dropped near the caribou.....they are so nomadic you can have them everywhere one day and none for days after. not sure about blk bear chances. i would say you would have very good chance for a b/c ' bou......b/c blk bear i would say nope. GEAR-good rain gear, no cotton , plan on wearing rain gear as wind proof layer. , high quality tent that will stand high winds. good optics. no down filled gear. temps -have plenty of warm clothes.

forgot to add...opened up the stomach. Had a 10" + grayling inside with no head on it. Not to mention a stomach full of bones. And I might add, wow, they are dang fine eating! So much for playing with lobster tails...move over, here comes the burbot!!!
