Juno grl - According to the spy network, there HAVE been a couple of medium-sized Kings caught from the beach at Outer Pt. Also, a half-dozen have been taken from boats both by the Ferry Terminal and along Fritz Cove Rd shore line between Auke Bay and Spuhn Island. (The fish over by Spuhn Island were barfing up firecracker herring when they were brought aboard.)

I hadn' t heard the forecast for cold. Today' s snow was a mild surprize. We had a hummingbird outside the window this morning - I bet it is not happy about flying north this early. We had some go-juice mixed and this afternoon put up a feeder just in case the hummer zips past in the morning. I could do without the temp down to 18. This time of the year it won' t last very long, and aside from a few skiiers most of us are ready for picnics and outside chores.

Nim - Any bites on your boat? I could post it again as local boating activity is about to begin. Let me know.

Bearhuntr--it is utopia...it' s just a fact!

VBM--so I was born in California...I didn' t have nuthin' to do with it. But, hey, I moved here when I was 6, and ever since I' ve had the choice of where to live, I' ve been here....so that makes me an Alaskan...don' t care what SEAK might' ve told you!! [>:] I haven' t sent you an e-mail lately, so it was someone else you' ve missed. Actually, I am going to send you an e-mail, so check it when you have a chance...

So, um, SEAK couldn' t get close enough to the fox with farm implements or what?? Share the story!

Phish--not a bad day today after yesterday' s snow, huh? I can survive winter a little longer if we get sun and blue sky like this! It' s a little chilly out, but I can pretend it' s warm while sitting in my office working! I haven' t seen any hummingbirds, but I love the hundreds of little chickadees chirping in the trees in the mornings! Hearing the fishing report...just makes me want to be outside playing! And, to tell you the truth....I don' t even like the taste of salmon! []Halibut, crab, shrimp, scallops, pink-neck clams, yes, salmon no! Well, except for smoked salmon...I like that!!

I' m back again....
I' ve had alot going on since my last post. Looks like I have alot of catching up to do. I did make the ABA banquet and had a good time. Unfortunately I was not able to get a ticket for the dinner; but from the sound of things I didn' t miss much. They did let me in for the post dinner festivities; next year I will be prepared for the auction. Things went really cheap IMO.

Unfortunately my present employer, Halliburton, will be moving me down to Houston Texas this summer. It is a great job but I don' t really wan' t to move away from Alaska. But to really go to the next level in the company I must go. One good thing about it, the hunting is great. I' m from Louisiana, not far form Houston, so I know how to chase them southern critters. In Texas the hunting is year round. My job will allow me to entertain clients on many hunting and fishing adventures around the country, so I' m not too disappointed.

My wife is excited about the move. We' ve been her for 12 years and she' s ready to warm her tired bones. She is demanding a pool behind our new house..... and I will give it to her.. Those women have a way of getting what they want

lost, I passed the message on to SEAK, and he said he got ahold of your wife.

Nimrod, too bad about not getting a bird... yet. Keep at it, I hope you get one. I got a bird on Sunday, and I didn' t even have to leave the state. [:-] I nailed a ptarmigan from about 20 yards with the bow. Going out tonight to check the trap line again, hopefully there' s something in there! SEAK missed a 80-90% black fox the other night as well. I thought he had this one, but oh well. When the fox took off running, he took off running! We watched him jump over and clear a mound that was about 2 feet high and 5-6 feet long, but he lept way before he got to it and cleared it by a long shot. It was sweet to watch! We got on some caribou as well, but the closest I got was 60 or so yards. The snow is just too noisy, and the caribou are just browsing around and not really moving, so its hard to set up on them. Those 1/2 mile snow walks sure get tiresome. It was about 25 below out and SEAK and I are taking layers off so we won' t start sweating too bad. I' m hoping to go out again next weekend.

Squirrel, guess you gotta go where the money is. I' m sure you' ll be missing Alaska real soon. Tell me about them wives. Mine wants a degree from UNLV... I guess I' ll humor her. Good luck down in the lower 48, I' ll be right behind you come July.

junogrl, as SEAK if he' s seen any extra arrows laying around, or if he' s lost all his own arrows as well as all of mine! [>:] Did Glen make it back to Juneau in one peice after spending a night on the road with us?

As you can see I' m having a tough time with the site tonight. I' m in a hurry to liquidate my assets. I was able to sell my drift boat with ease last weekend. I have a 2001 31' Jayco travel trailer for sale - anyone interested?
