Default RE: Alaska Thread

lost, I passed the message on to SEAK, and he said he got ahold of your wife.

Nimrod, too bad about not getting a bird... yet. Keep at it, I hope you get one. I got a bird on Sunday, and I didn' t even have to leave the state. [:-] I nailed a ptarmigan from about 20 yards with the bow. Going out tonight to check the trap line again, hopefully there' s something in there! SEAK missed a 80-90% black fox the other night as well. I thought he had this one, but oh well. When the fox took off running, he took off running! We watched him jump over and clear a mound that was about 2 feet high and 5-6 feet long, but he lept way before he got to it and cleared it by a long shot. It was sweet to watch! We got on some caribou as well, but the closest I got was 60 or so yards. The snow is just too noisy, and the caribou are just browsing around and not really moving, so its hard to set up on them. Those 1/2 mile snow walks sure get tiresome. It was about 25 below out and SEAK and I are taking layers off so we won' t start sweating too bad. I' m hoping to go out again next weekend.

Squirrel, guess you gotta go where the money is. I' m sure you' ll be missing Alaska real soon. Tell me about them wives. Mine wants a degree from UNLV... I guess I' ll humor her. Good luck down in the lower 48, I' ll be right behind you come July.

junogrl, as SEAK if he' s seen any extra arrows laying around, or if he' s lost all his own arrows as well as all of mine! [>:] Did Glen make it back to Juneau in one peice after spending a night on the road with us?
