RE: ANYBODY FROM WASHINGTON STILL AROUND???
Yeah Wayne, I can tell you're a pro too. I think we've got enough on here for our own organization. We could call ourselves the Washington State Bovine Feces Flingers, or WSBFF for short.
Hunt hard, live right, and tell your kids you love 'em! |
RE: ANYBODY FROM WASHINGTON STILL AROUND???
Good evening everyone.
Slee - Glad to hear you and your partners got into some birds. Pointshoot777 - Nice pair of birds you and your brother harvested. Wayne - What kind of pixies do you have over your way? Are they the red-crested sub-species? We primarily have the web-footed ones here on the west side, due to all the rain. So do I get to join the WSBFF now? :) |
RE: ANYBODY FROM WASHINGTON STILL AROUND???
Yeah Moose Eyes, I think we are all on the squad. It's just that there are rookies and veterans. I consider myself and most everyone else on here a veteran. We need to do some recruiting to get some fresh meat on the squad to keep the tempo up. Can't let it get boring on here, or we'll never beat those Alaskans.
And make sure you wear your old boots when on the board. It can get pretty deep, and you don't want to get your good boots dirty. WSBFFs are #1! WHOOOOOOOOO!!! Hunt hard, live right, and tell your kids you love 'em! Edited by - slee on 05/18/2002 01:44:28 |
RE: ANYBODY FROM WASHINGTON STILL AROUND???
Hey Moose Eye's....Welcome to the WSBFFs...Alway's wanted me one of them web-footed pixies...heard they taste alot like Owl. We do have a few of the red crested one's here...but their kind of muted, and all bug eyed
|
RE: ANYBODY FROM WASHINGTON STILL AROUND???
No BS from me for a few days. I am heading down to Mexico for a little R&R with my wife. You all work on passing those Alaskans while I'm away.

Also, have been using that BowFit deal to strengthen my one arm with the old injury. And will start shopping around for a hunting bow soon ! :) Guess that's another web board though. Good Hunting! - - Rob |
RE: ANYBODY FROM WASHINGTON STILL AROUND???
Speaking of fall turkey hunting, did you see where Fish and Wildlife is proposing to issue 1000 fall tags for Stevens County alone? I guess they have decided turkeys are a bad thing and they want to exterminate all of them, starting with a 1000 hens!

RE: ANYBODY FROM WASHINGTON STILL AROUND???
Wayne - Nothing for sparrows this year. :) But among the different farmers we know, there'll be crops to help pull in the honkers. (We trade off hunt locations each year depending on what different guys are growing.) Got one field of about 30 acres that we only break even on each year. I'm tempted to put some corn in there. After you harvest some of the grain gets knocked on the ground and that really brings in the geese. Might also be good as it is now with alfalfa, if we put some pheasants in there. Good Hunting!, - - Rob

Hello, fairly new to the site, though I would help with the pages to boost Wa over the top!!!! Been hunting in WA for 4 years and killed two blacktail and one 5x5 elk. Been doing some waterfowling and up-land bird hunting on the west side also. Had a golden retriver flow in from Nebraska and he LOVEs to hunt. I have a questioon if any west side hunters in here, How many points does it usually take to get drawn in the Winston Creek area???? I will have 5 , but they only gave 15 permits this year. Thanks!

Thanks Wayne, I have been invited over on the east side a couple of times but haven't taken them. I will continue to hunt west for a couple more seasons, maybe come over and hunt Naches one of these days. I like it over there, it reminds me of Colorado. Anyway still looking for some info, I know it's a pretty complex system they use for the points, but just curious if anyone has drawn for this area.

RE: ANYBODY FROM WASHINGTON STILL AROUND???
Hey nascar I am in the Tacoma area--Spanaway. I just started waterfowling again two years ago. Lived in CO and Neb and very spoiled when it comes to the #'s and season out here in WA. I hunt Fort Lewis but since Osama, we are restricted to only hunting propertys off base. I also like to waterfowl down in the Rochester area. ( Brady, Elma). I am interested learning more about the Mossyrock Chehalis area. I killed 45 ducks last season, no geese. I have yet to take the test for identificataion. The seasons seem unfair accout of the weather. The next day after waterfowl ended, it snowed hard in Tacoma. I went out to Fort Lewis to check it out and where I was seeing 5 to 20 ducks a day, I saw hundreds. I think the season should at least reach the last of Jan. It seem to get colder anyway. I havent been to pot holes, accout I don't have the time to take off from work. I use Vacation for elk and deer. I did hunt some private land with a guy, and it was good hunting. I also talked to a guy out in Graham are who owns a dairy and he is thinking about letting me hunt this year, cause he and his kids wont be. Anyway let me know where you are at, I would be interested in learning more out here!! Thanks

RE: ANYBODY FROM WASHINGTON STILL AROUND???
gator, we mostly hunt the tide flats up here on the penn. the drought last year is what really hurt us on the numbers, but seeing as how the weather has cooperated nicely this year i think it will be great. seeing lots of little ones around anywhere from 10-14 puff balls following momma... last year on the trout ponds i was seeing 1-6.
we will be losing a member from our party this year(outta the navy, going back to montana) so we may have a slot open. we will deffinetly get together this year for some wet hunting. im up here in port orchard. im from the government, im here to help. |
RE: ANYBODY FROM WASHINGTON STILL AROUND???
Nascar, Sound great, let me know.. Have been woterfowling since I was eight years old and can't get enough. When I moved out here 7 year ago, I had no clue where to go, but gradually builting up the spots to go. Brady is a good place, there is an access site down there and 17 land owners with signs that say feel free to hunt. There is also a Wetlands in Ethel with floating blinds. Not a lot of hunters.
I am looking this summer for some more private land to hunt, and have a couple of leads. Found a good place down by Morton for geese. We will definately have to get together. Ft Lewis isn't bad and it's free to hunt. Kepp me informed and I will let you know if I get permission to hunt the Dairy. I am going out there this month to see if the guy needs any help around the place. There is another dairy out there, but they want 1000. a year to hunt it. Take it easy, and talk to you later.
