yajsab ...If your hunting around the Ione area...today I found a nice size flock.......go across the Ione bridge...headed toward Sullivan Lake....as soon as you cross the bridge, turn right on La Clair Ck. Rd........just about 8 mile's down is where I saw em....heck...I had to wait a couple of minute's for em to cross the road

Hey Robb....Sorry to hear ya have'nt been feeling well... :)....spent most the week-end playing with the pup...re-did all the piping for the kitchen sink....and of corse...watched the big game.....I'm alway's pumped for spring Turkey.. :)

WAYNE1 I DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO WATCH THE SUPER BOWL, WAS TO SICK TO CARE. BUT I DID SEE ABOUT 16 ROOSTERS IN MY BACK YARD. 2 OF THEM KEPT FIGHTING PRETTY COOL.

Alright Robb...I never get tired of watching em....have a few flock's up here on the mt. one of em's over 100 strong...up untill last week got to see em everyday.....now I'm not sure where they went....but I'm sure their not far... :)

THE BAD THING IS PHEASANT SEASON CLOSED ON THE FIRST SO I HAVE TO WAIT TELL THE FIRST OF AUGUST TO HUNT THEM, THAT IS IF MY FAMILY AND I DON'T GO BACK TO WASHINGTON AROUND THE FIRST OF AUGUST

Well morning all. Robb hope your feeling better it's pretty bad when you're so sick you didn't watch probably the best game of the year. Just about the only game I did watch to busy chasing ducks and geese. Never hunted turkeys but got some in the canyon around my place every once in a while they'll even come up by the house usally it just hens but it get the kids all fired up. I guess a birds a bird to them you shoot it dad and well fetch it up for you. That's one reason I haven't gotten into hunting them yet they just can't understand me getting dressed up in camo and getting the shotgun out and they can go. One of my buds comes up every now and then to hunt them and it drives them nuts that they can't go with him. Another month or so I should start hearing them talking when I take the kids for their walk before I go to work. It's cool just to listen to them Ive had a couple that roosted on place last year a couple of times they scared the crap out of me the first time they flew down from the roost and I didn't know they were there. Only saw them a couple of time maybe they'll come back this year.

CALL EM IN CLOSE AND SHOOT THEM IN THE EYES

HAVE A SAFE TRIP TOMORROW, THE WEATHER HERE IS STILL KINDA BAD WE'VE HAD GAIL FORCE WINDS, THE GUST WERE UP OVER 70 MPH, AND THE RAIN WAS COMING DOWN IN SHEETS, THEY HAVE FLOOD WARNINGS OUT OVER A LOT OF THE COUNTRY, THE PONDS NEAR MY HOUSE ARE REALLY REALLY FULL, THE DUCKS LOVE IT. HAD 10 PHEASANTS HUDDLED UP UNDER THE ONE PINE TREE IN THE BACKYARD, WOULD HAVE BEEN EASY PICKING FOR ME, BUT NO ROOM IN THE FREEZER FOR THEM.

I'LL ADMIT WHEN I WAS BACK HOME RIGHT AFTER CHRISTMAS, I WAS DISAPPOINTED, DIDN'T SEE ANY PHEASANTS JUST HUNS. DOES THE GAME DEPARTMENT, STILL HAVE THE PHEASANT PROGRAM, WHERE THEY GIVE YOU A CERTAIN NUMBER OF PHEASANT CHICKS AND YOU RAISE THEM UP AND THEN RELEASE THEM? WE DID THAT IN HIGH SCHOOL. THE GAME DEPARTMENT NEEDS TO DO SOMETING ABOUT THE PHEASANT POPULATION IT SEEMS TO BE DECREASING EVERY YEAR.

I JUST WISH THE GAME DEPARTMENT WOULD STOP TIP TOEING AROUND ISSUE LIKE THIS BECAUSE THEY ARE AFRAID OF THE PETA WACHOS. THEY NEED TO BRING OUT THE TRUTH BEHIND THE COUGAR PROBLEM AND BRING BACK BAITING AND TRAPPING AND RUNNING DOGS. INSTEAD OF LETTING THE PETAS PUSH THEM AROUND. THEY NEED TO GROW SOME NADS AND STICK UP FOR US, OR GET OUT OF THE WAY AND LET HUNTERS RUN THE SHOW AT LEAST THAT WAY YOU'LL KNOW THE PROGRAMS ARE BEING RUN RIGHT. I'LL GET OFF MY SOAP BOX NOW

I DIDN'T HEAR THAT HE WANTED TO INCREASE THE PRICE, HE NEEDS TO BUTT OUT OF THE GAME DEPARTMENT AFFAIRS AND LET THEM RUN THE PROGRAMS. SOME PEOPLE ALWAYS LIKE TO HAVE THIER HANDS IN EVERY PIECE OF THE PIE, SEE ALL THE TIME IN THE AIR FORCE.

Hello all, I'm originally from WA., but joined the Navy at 18, went to Japan and married a Hooiser(go figure) and that's why I live here now. My wife and I plan to go back to WA. to live someday. Until that time I'll have to live with a yearly pilgrimage home in the winter to do a little snowboarding. I have been watching this post for a while and its great to hear what's going on in the home state. Indiana has great deer hunting, but I really miss the explosion of a rooster from under your feet. The only pheasant hunting near me is pen raised and then released...this doesn't sound very fun to me. Everyone please keep on posting.

Wayne1~~They raised the price of a deer tag in INDIANA from 13.75 to 24.00. Everyone here is whining about the increase, but I try to remind everyone that this is still very cheap compared to some states...i.e. WASHINGTON!! In Indiana you don't even need to buy a hunting license to hunt deer, just a deer tag. In WA. you have to buy a license + tag right? I can't remember, its been 10 years since I bought a license in WA. and the regs. might have changed.

Nascar88~~I'm sorry I wasn't clear in the post above, but I got out of the Navy about 4 years ago. I was just trying to explain how I ended up in Indiana. I met my wife while in Sasebo, Japan. She is from Indiana and we kind of settled here because her parents can't get around very well any more. She wanted to be around while they were still on this great earth. Sorry again for not being very clear. That "haze grey" thing gave me flashbacks. LOL
