Guess I'm just stubborn and have chosen to "DIY" on my elk and mulie hunts thus far. I enjoy the whole experience of scouring the maps, gathering the necessary gear, and hunting different areas of Montana, Colorado, and other states as well. I learn a little more about what works for hunting and in camp and have fonds memories of the strange and wonderful things that happen as a result of the journeys there and back. Figure I can do about3 or 4DIY hunts out west for the cost of an outfitted hunt so for now that is what I'm doing. Some day I'd love to go on an outfitted hunt just for a different experience and I'll do that too. As in my DIY hunts, I'll make sure I do the research necessary so that I get an outfitter that is suited to my style of hunting and also what I want out of a hunt.
