RE: Need help with patterning an 870 Super Mag
Okay, Turkey-dog, here's what works for me out of my 870 w/ 21" barrel
Kick's Gobblin' Thunder choke in .665
3" Winchester High Velocity #5's
This combination works outstanding on the patterning board and more importantly, it works in the field. Thumpin' a gobbler with this load looks like throwing a feather pillow into a fan!!

I have an 870 Mag (NOT super mag) 26" barrel and a StarDot choke. I got real good patterns with it using Federal Premium 3" 2oz #5 shot.
Got a Benelli NOVA now and get good patterns with Rem HeviShot #5 and the factory full choke.

I shot Winchester HV 3" #6 shot with a .660 Kicks GT from my 1187 21" barrel. In my 870 Super Magnum it's a .665 Kicks GT and both throw nice patterns. Just tried the Jelly Head w/Hevi-shot 3" #6 shot but decided to stick with the Winchester. The % is better with the Hevi-shot but I can't over look the pattern the Kicks puts out, FULL COVERAGE

I have a 870 supermag and have found a great combo that is producing really good patterns. I have an H S Undertaker choke and have switched to Hevi-Shot #5 1 7/8 oz. 3 1/2" shells. At 40 yards I am consistently putting 60 pellets in a 7 1/2 inch circle. This choke tube nearly got thrown away last year because I couldn't get it to pattern with any other shell combinations, but luckily I tried it one more time!

I also have a Rem. 870 Super Magnum and was going to purchase a super full turkey choke shooting Federal #5's, 3" shells out of it. Just wandering what ya'll think and if any of you have had any luck with the super full turkey choke.

Kicks G.T. if you want to shoot lead, but if you want to try Hevi-Shot I get good performance with a Briley turkey tube (hardened for Hevi-Shot). #6 for Hevi-Shot, #5 for lead (Winchester Supreme High Velocity)
