you bought a 12ga. and had trouble with it, then you buy a 20 for turkey hunting

i'm sorry i can't help but laugh

hey moose1915,
then i cleaned it (one whole nut to unscrew!- best designed repeating shotgun in the world, IMHO)
don't forget the old browning A-5's, which IMO, is one of the best ever shotgun designs

BTW, i love my SBEII, sold a browning gold and got it, not knocking the gold (as, i love my old belgium A-5 and wouldn't take a million bucks and a chop saw for it), but i prefer inertia/recoil operationover gas, i also own a junky old A-5, dug myself out of mud once, cut the finger out of a glove and ran it thru the barrel with a limb, wiped down the rest of the gun/action (best i could) and continued hunting, not saying you couldn't do that with a gas gun, but i have had bad experience with auto riflesand shotguns that were gas operated, for me its bolts, and single shotson rifles, and inertia/recoil/pump shotguns, or the old K.I.S.S. rule

Iwill add, I'm getting back into archery again...so anyone wanting to trade a Bowtech Gaurdian or Commander, I'm all ears. You know the problem with the gun so there are no hidden secrets. It has been drilled and tapped and has a scope mount w/a Pure Gold choke included
BTW, is this the 12 or the 20

if its the 20 go ahead and cut it up, my wife already has a shotgun

I once had a Craftsman lawnmower that was one problem after another, which Sears didn't want to warranty. I fought with them for 2 yrs (until the warranty ran out) and finally bought another brand from another store and I'm done with Sears forever. I doubt it will hurt them much, but they'll never get another nickel from me. Whether or not they want to admit it, every company that manufactures a product with complex moving parts that must fit perfectly will occasionally produce a lemon. How they deal with that lemon is what sets them apart. Obviously lots of people are very happy with their Benellis, good for them. I had one briefly, it just didn't "fit" me, so I sold it. My point is... I'd sure like to see the pics of that gun after you cut it up!

I don't think there is anything wrong with the gun as far as point of aim goes. Most likely just doesn't fit you, have you tried getting the gun fitted by using some shims or something? Not everyone can just pick up a shotgun and shoot it perfectly. Or maybe you don't shoot it that well?

As far as the functioning problems I would be pissed as well for that kind of money.

Paul L.
As I stated in my first post, I have had the gun for 1 1/2 years, it hasn't been sitting in the closet until this year, I have tried the different shims and different sights...made no difference. I have been shooting all of my life, was sniper qualified in the service and shoot regularly when I have the chance, so I don't think it's the shooter. I even had others shoot the gun with the same results.

m.t.hands,
I bought the 20ga. even after the problems with the 12ga figuring that the 20ga would be ok....boy was that a mistake. Sometimes you just have to stick your finger in the outlet twice before you learn...I've learned.

moose 1915,
I didn't know you had to clean them, I figured for that much money it would do it itself...

Adirondack Hunter,
Tell you what, gold is going for about, what, $600 an ounce, my 20ga weighs about 5lbs. seeing how gold ismeasured@ 12oz instead of 16oz per pound, that would mean my gun is worth $48,000.00 roughly, I'll sell it to you for this one time special offer of JUST $5000.00

I know that not buying their products anymore won't hurt their bottom line, but when enough people stop using their stuff because of bad customer service or product functionallity they will wake up and remember were the money comes from that keeps their company in business. they will never get my money again.

I have had an offer from someone at Benelli to try and have the gun fixed, however, I'm going to have it fixed by an outside source and will be giving it to a kid back home who does not have a gun and wants one of his own. I kind of hate to do that to a kid, hope he doesn't hold it against me.

Best of luck to those of you that have a Benelli that works fine, I hope it always does.

It's messed up what has happened... But it will never change... I like Remington shot guns and have never had a prob... But it seems like everybody else has and hates them... I like Remington rifle... Seems like everybody else cant stand them... I like dodge trucks... Lots of people hat them... I wouldn't worrie my self to much... Just get rid of it and buy something else...

I bought a savage that would only shoot 2" groups for me... If I came on hear and started bad mouthing savage... I'd have 75% of the people on hear telling me I'm a idiot and I just cant shoot... I just got a bad one...

My dad has a Craftsman lawnmower too and it sucks. It clogs up constantly and leaves clumps everywhere. Every time he goes out of town he asks me to mow for him and I do so while forgetting about what a piece of crap mower he has. I just like to mow lawns and I'm not Mexican either! One of these days I'll just buy him a new one. By the way, what was that about a Benelli shotgun?
