I've had it with Benelli, let me explain.

I bought a 20ga. M1 1 1/2 years ago, I have had nothing but problems trying to get this thing to hit POA/POI, I have tried 4 different chokes, they shot good patterns but were a foot low and a foot left.
I sent the gun back to Benelli 2 times to get this problem fixed.
First time, they said it shoots to thier spec's...I told them I don't shoot turkeys with #8 shot and that this was unacceptable to me, especially when I paid about $1100.00 for the gun.

Second time, I spoke to them on the phone and told them this gun was bought specifally for turkey hunting and that I would even pay for them to shoot turkey loads (any turkey load) to get the gun right, I asked if they would replace the barrel...nope, they sent it back without doing anything.

So, when I get home in August, I will take a chop saw or porta-band saw and cut the gun up into 2" pieces and send the piece of TRASH back to Benelli, it will probably shoot the same way as it does now.
Then my 12ga. Benelli SBE will be sold. I have made it very clear to Benelli what I was going to do, and that they have lost a customer for EVER, and if I can, I will let everyone know how Benelli DIDN'T take care of this problem and how it was handled, and that I will try my hardest to send them to another gun company.

So future buyer's BEWARE, Benelli will NOT help you if you have a problem with thier gun.

Try telling this to Tom Knapp.

And see what he says about it.

i'd be pissed off too. i also have never had any luck with the italian made junk. I had a 4 made in italy blackpowder revolvers, the first one darn near blew up in my hand while the 3 others wouldnt cock back. Customer service for italian made blackpowder items also sucks.

I'm not trying to start an argument, just trying to point out a potential fact.

hehehe I might have it mixed up. He has a ton of guns. I know he has a Benelli. I myself dont care cause they are too expensive for me and I have a great shooting gun as it is. All I know is he has only one gun that can compare with my Mossberg and that gun is his Mossberg... You'll get no argument from me on this cause now Im wondering which ga. his Benelli is...

Dude I feel your pain... I had a Savage 300wsm... I bought this gun strickly because of all the talk about how good they shoot... Well the best this gun would shoot was 1.56... That was the group that they sent back to me... And they told me to basicaly go F!@# my self... I sold the gun and that was it for me and Savage... I know tons of people own them and that there happy. I just got a bad one... I bought a Browning A bolt and was very pleased...

I would get rid of it how ever you choose and just suck it up and buy a another turkey gun... I own 3 Remingtons and every one of them shoot POA POI go figure. I also have a NEF 10 ga that shoots POA POI

I'd buy a Remington again in a hearty beat!!!!

I never really cared much for benelli... I'd rather buy American... That's just me

ever clean it? ever used the (supplied ) shim kit?

i bought my nearly new sbe for 300 bucks. know why? the guy that had it before me said it wont hit where its pointed and jams.

reading the instruction manual (supplied) i shimmed it to where it needed to be for me.

then i cleaned it (one whole nut to unscrew!- best designed repeating shotgun in the world, IMHO)

this gun eats the lightest trap loads to the heaviest 3-1/2 inch mags--no hiccups...

and it SMASHES turkeys and ducks like you read about....darn good on the trap range, to boot.

I am glad my buddy thought his benelli was "junk" too. keep up the good work!

Agreed. People may think of the cheaper Remingtons as worthless pieces of American junk, but they fit me great right out of the box and shoot where I aim. I've got mounted turkeys, ducks, quail and deer all around the house to prove it! Just my 2 cents...
