Default paper tuning question?

i have never tuned my bow with paper even though i shoot good groups i do not have that perfect straight arrow in my target. sometimes they are straight and sometimes angled slightly. my question is to paper tune how far away should the paper be from the bow at the shot. i don't want the vanes to be ironing out the shot because i have the paper too far or vise versa too close and can't tell. any insight will be appreciated

well I usually stand about 4 feet away from the paper and if you still see some fish tailing after a bullet hole there move it out to 10yds to make sure its not a fluke and the wag is hitting just right.
