Yes, the WB shoots better with a little bit of slop. I don't find the B2 to be as critical of this as the B1 was however.
I find it amusing that everyone always tries to promote what THEY like, myself included---there is almost always more than one way to do something, and as stated it all boils down to personal preference. I like others here have been taught that arrow or fletching contact is BAD, but the flip side and something else I have learned over the years is that as long as it is CONSISTENT, contact really doesn't much matter--- and most rests (no matter what kind or style) are capable of shooting better than most shooters' abilities anyway if tuned correctly.
Simply put, it all boils down to whatever floats your boat and what you feel the most confident in.
For HUNTING, I'll take the WB thanks, sitting on a Hybrid (Merlin, of course[8D]
) and will be VERY confident in my abilities AND my equipment to perform as they should.
Good shooting, Pinwheel 12

Thanks for the answers, everyone. The exact opposite is happenging with the Whisper Disk I have now; the disk foam is starting to wear! But... I'm currently shooting aluminums with poorly-aligned oversized knocks (it's definitely a mickey mouse-looking setup) so I don't know that I'd have that problem with proper arrows.

c j, not sure if WB advice is directly transferable to the Whisper Disk...

I just thought it was kind of ironic that the big beef with the WB is that it - allegedly -
wears out vanes, whereas on my bow, the arrows are wearing out the rest. (it's probably one of those things that only amuses me. That's not uncommon, unfortunately.) [&:]

As long as I'm here............does anyone have arrows that DO make noise when drawing through a WB?? I shoot PSE Carbon Force dull finish carbons and they are silent.
Just wondering if the smoother finishes make noise for future reference when buying arrows.
Thanks

Is any noise made by a shaft, louder than the fletch or vanes blowing through the bristles?
