Thanks for the answers, everyone. The exact opposite is happenging with the Whisper Disk I have now; the disk foam is starting to wear! But... I'm currently shooting aluminums with poorly-aligned oversized knocks (it's definitely a mickey mouse-looking setup) so I don't know that I'd have that problem with proper arrows.
