Nock travel issues can be a real problem with the martin singlecams (and many other rmodular singles) and will cause the contact issues you cannot dial out like you are having (thats assuming the QAD is set up correctly). Make sure the cam is set up for proper rotation as well.

In cases where nock travel is the culprit you will be best served with either a conventional rest, a biscuit, or a a drop away such as the limbdriver that supports the arrow for most of it's forward travel.

Hey, I have been off here a few days doing honeydo's and my back just wouldn't let me sit here after working on the house....

That said, JEFFB nailed it. Being as I am not too up on newer model Martins, I put a call into the local Martin Guru. He said word for word what JEFFB said. He also said to get a TrophyTaker or WB and try it. He said, and I concur that taking it to a shop where they may have one to let you try out before buying would be your best option. He is a shop owner, and I of course was. We both did this practice (kept one of each to try out).

This is actually why I like these 2 particular rests, they will mask most mild nocktravel issues. Prong rests and quick fallers will magnify them. Prongs will make them actually jump or "launch" off the rest. Quick fallers will let the back of the arrow drop. (most often the way nock travel shows itself is the nock goes down. This causes a rebound off launcher or prong rests and of course follows thru until the fletch straighten them out with QF's.

Hope this helps you to understand the concept of what is most likely happening.

OH, and guys, Thanks a bunch for the kind words earlier. Makes a washed up old guy like me feel good to be helpful with all this worthless accumulation of archery tinkering and experimenting knowlege over 30years.

Hey JeffB and DryRidge.....

I think you guys may be onto something because even when I shot my Tm hunter Prong style rest for years, it was always scary close to the cables. I never had any contact issues but it was always a worry in my head! I am still going to see if I can tune it any better, because I hate to spend the money on a new rest and if that does'nt do the trick I have some Vantec 3" SS vanes coming in the mail to me now so I will try them as they are a shorter profile! I just hope they will steer a fixed broadhead??

Thanks, I will keep you guys updated!!

Hey WesternMd....Sorry I missed this earlier but can you adjust your cable guard? If so, just crank it out a bit and problem solved. If not, I see you have what is called an "inboard" cable holder. You can get an "outboard" type such as a roller style or just a simple plastic slide that rides on the outside of the cable guard. It is a very simple fix either way. It may require a trip to a shop for a new slide, but they are very cheap. I used to keep some on hand but they are all gone. I looked....was gonna mail you one. Sorry Buddy.

Anyway, I can't believe I didn't think of that when I first saw the pic....I am slipping!!! LOL!

DryRidge~~~ Thanks for the tip, but I believe I am already to the MAX of pulling the cables out anymore. I will try to post a pic later but I dont think it will show but where my cble guard is sitting now, the cables are tweaked out as far as I can get them without it riding up into the top cam funny.

Do you know what I mean??

I was hoping to have my new arrows to start shooting but they somehow got mixed up in shipping and it will be a couple more days before I get them in?? I did however get the 3" Vanetec SS vanes in the mail and it looks like they will give me plenty of clearance as long as they will steer the broadhead ok?? They are low profile but not as bad as I thought they were going to be?!!??(3/8")

I will keep you all updated as soon as I get the chance to sletch the arrows up and shoot!!

OK...well after finally getting my arrows in and my new 3" SS Vanetec Fletchings in, I got the chance to shoot again! I shot probably upwards of 50-60 shots today and only one time I had fletching contact on the launcher of the rest, I dont know how or what happened but it only happened once?

I rechecked everything and there is no possible way I could shoot blazers with a tuned set-up. I think I am going to be happy wtih what I am shooting now as long as I can tune my broadheads with my Field tips with the low profile vanes?? I will hopefully be able to check that come Mon-Tue?

Thanks again to all that helped, but I honestly believe it is just not physically possible for my bow to shoot this rest with blazers!!

One trick you can do to help with this is to go to a stiffer shaft. This will allow you to setup the arrow closer to level nock heigth and will be much easier to tune.

OK.....

I have yet another problem with the QAD LD rest!!!! I noticed tonight while shooting I would get an unusual "flyer" that me leaves me dumbfounded?? It turns out I think I figured out how I hit one out of 60 shots the other night.

The darn launcher is not going all the way to "LOCK-DOWN" position, it will fall to almost 90degree but not all the way AND I can manually push the launcher past its locked down spot...????

It almost seems like the gears in the QAD rest is broken already after a whopping 100 shots??? I am thinking this will be my last QAD! I did adjust the drop cable a little bit tonight and I am getting it to drop better but it still just dont seem right???

Why can nothing go my way for once...!!!??????????
