Nock travel issues can be a real problem with the martin singlecams (and many other rmodular singles) and will cause the contact issues you cannot dial out like you are having (thats assuming the QAD is set up correctly).
One trick you can do to help with this is to go to a stiffer shaft.This will allow you to setup the arrow closer to level nock heigth and will be much easier to tune.
