Arrow Weight
#1
Is there a way to add weight weight to the front of my arrow without increasing the weight of my broadhead? I have a bunch of 100 grain broadheads, so I don't want to buy new ones, but would really like to experiment with making my arrows have a high FOC. Anyone have any suggestions?

inserts are your answer. they make inserts in a bunch of weights upto 50 or 100gr.
the important thing you gotta watch is arrow spine...throwing 100gr on an arrow matched with 100gr tip could easily throw your out of your spine..run the numbers and see how much weight you can add to the tip before changing the spine of your arrows and go from there...or if needed, setup your bow to shoot a lighter spine(drop poundage) or if possible trim the shafts and make them shorter to stiffen them up to accomidate for the spine change with more weight up front....
also, removing weight from the rear will help FOC. going to blazers or feathers, no lighted nocks or wraps or anything heavy back there will help FOC...

Okay, forgive me for my ignorant questions. I am still trying to learn about tuning my bow properly. So is there away to determine if I will "over-spine" my arrows by adding extra weight without having a spine tester? I shoot cheap arrows, something that I regret buying; however, since I bought a dozen of them, I am going to use them for awhile. They arethe Cabelas Carbon Hunter and are the 65/80's.I have them cut to29 inches and are right around 20.5 g witha nock, insert, and 2 inch blazers. Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

A spine tester wouldnt do it for you anyway. Give what type of bow you shoot , year of bow, letoff, draw weight , weight of broadhead or field point. I will run them through OT2 and will be able to tell how much weight you could add to the front and still be ok for spine.

Archer2, I am shooting a 2006 Reflex Super Slam. It has a 75% let-off and I draw 63 pounds at a 29 inch draw length. Also, I shoot a 100 grain broadhead and I believe the last time that I had it crono'd, it was right at240 fps. Thanks a lot for running them through OT2, I really appreciate it.
