I reread my post and it was a little cofusing.

My stringmaker doesn't think it is a benefit to have the serving going in a different direction than the twist.

His theory was that the manufactures might THINK it was a benefit on a production bow because so many start twisting and untwistingon there strings and cables when they start trying to tune and setup their bows.

I don't think that is the case.I believe it is time and production cost, and plain old laziness.[&:]

really the best thing to do when you need new cables/strings is go to your local proshop and have their string guy make some custom pre-stretched strings. most proshops can do this, i know we do and they are the best. everything is hand made to perfection. a big plus over strings made by machine.

The last two Hoyts I have owned,I took my strings off shortly after a few shots and build my own BCY 450's.I had one break on my first Hoyt(1999 or 2000)Havoc.

I just got a Hoyt Vectrix and I have well over 200 shots through it and I can not see any problems in my strings....yet. I did have a Fuse string leach blow up on me already. I will keep my eye on the strings now. My old hoyt Impulse lasted good it still has the original string on it, I wax it all the time but looks great. Maybe I got lucky with my vextrix and I got the best string in the batch!
