Well, here's what's new from BowTech for 2003...

Unless the engineers at Bowtech found some ways to "tweak" some minor odds and ends in order to obtain the resulting increase in speed then I would probably guess that they somewhat lengthened the range that the bow maintains its peak draw weight. Not ridiculously mind you but enough to increase the speed slightly while still being able to maintain a healthy brace height.

Actually this is what I was implying, that you will hit max quicker and hold it longer...the crux though is how hard or soft you hit it, and drop off...I do not know for a fact, but i suspect that's the case. Of course they also are using some new things that might give us an increase of a few FPS to add to the total..the new slide, the bushings, etc. I suspect that Kevin designed the new cams around the limb angle and deflection rates he had to experiment with on the standard Patriot...He may have found a very efficent combination of the two through design and trial and error.
Do not forget that basically the current BK cams are a 7-8 year old design. they have had a few tweaks here and there, but Kevin has had plenty of time to experiment and refine other designs.
At any rate, it's going to be fun to find out!

Anyone know if the DC Patriot will use the same riser as this year's patriot. Just curious about balance points and such.
Also, anyone know MSRP on this bow?

Rod,
The Patriots (as well as the other Pro series bows) for 2K3 will be a bit more refined..they are supposed to balance a bit better than the 2K2's, as well as weigh less.
I don't know about prices...

Maybe I was missed it earlier but will the dual cams on the Patriot be the same as the dual cams that were on the BK2 or will they be in some way different?

I'm probably the only person on this board who is "old school" enough to ask about the Pro 40 wheel bow. Will it have a hard wall, or the typical wheel bow mush at the end of the draw cycle? Thanks for any info on this mostly non-speed related, non-VFT related question.

Joe,
LOL...love that last sentence in the part I quoted...kind of a disclaimer of sorts..hee hee
I do know it's supposed to be an energy wheel. I doubt the wall will be mushy but I do not know for a fact.
Pat, do you know? I'm interested myself in this bow.

Well, after reading the specs and all of the posts it will be interesting to see the dual cam Patriot. I liked the single cam and it shot fairly well for me, but I had some consistency problems. It just seemed that me and the bow couldn't always get along. I loved shooting it, but hated the grip and the balance. I can't wait to check out the new one and see if the changes are to my liking. Those speeds are hard to argue with and for a short draw shooter like myself they are very inviting.
BTS, when will they be at the pro shops for us to get our grubby little hands on?

I suspect that the DC Patriot will balance better due to the change in the sand trap limb pockets plus the one inch longer limbs. Ausie-guy, They sight window was lowered earlier this year to help with the problems that some people ran into.
HuntingBry, The Dual Cam Patriot, BK2's, Dual Cam Pro 40 and the Extreme VFT won't get to shops until beginning of Jan.
The 2003 brochures should be out mid Nov. and some of the 2003 bows will begin shipping Early to mid Nov. or so.
