RE: Well, here's what's new from BowTech for 2003...

Unless the engineers at Bowtech found some ways to "tweak" some minor odds and ends in order to obtain the resulting increase in speed then I would probably guess that they somewhat lengthened the range that the bow maintains its peak draw weight. Not ridiculously mind you but enough to increase the speed slightly while still being able to maintain a healthy brace height.

Actually this is what I was implying, that you will hit max quicker and hold it longer...the crux though is how hard or soft you hit it, and drop off...I do not know for a fact, but i suspect that's the case. Of course they also are using some new things that might give us an increase of a few FPS to add to the total..the new slide, the bushings, etc. I suspect that Kevin designed the new cams around the limb angle and deflection rates he had to experiment with on the standard Patriot...He may have found a very efficent combination of the two through design and trial and error.
Do not forget that basically the current BK cams are a 7-8 year old design. they have had a few tweaks here and there, but Kevin has had plenty of time to experiment and refine other designs.
At any rate, it's going to be fun to find out!
