Default First time Elk hunting

My question is this.... I applied to the Kentucky Elk hunt for this year! I've hunted every other animal that my state offers, until now! How do you hunt Elk? Do you hunt from a stand or stalk or what???? Please help!

The most exciting way to hunt elk is from the ground. It will depend on what you will be after, cow or bull. Bugling & cow calls work great during the rut. The lost cow call will work any time. Good luck in the draw. elknut1

bigboy, After hunting Montana for the past couple of years I can tell you that there is nothing more exciting than chasing elk. If you are lucky enough to get drawn, and start looking into calls, be sure to check out the Hoochie Moma from primos. This is a call that you simply have to push on the bottom of it to push air thru the reeds to make a cow sound that sounds very lifelike. I am expecting to draw Montana tags this year, and I wouldnt leave GA without one.
