Today I was riding my snowmobile around Denver (thank god for the snow) and in a field by my house I ran over a coyote. This wasn' t intentional, he jumped pretty much right infront of me on a suicide mission. It didn' t kill him but really messed up his hind legs so I took care of him. I took him home and skinned him out, and have his carcass laying in the snow by the house. I have no intentions of eating him, but was wondering if anyone does anything with the meat. I was thinking about boiling him up and feeding him to my dog, but I' m not sure about that.

I have never done anything with a coyote carcass. If you have a mind to boil it though, do it outside, I bet it will stink to high heaven.[X(] You may get a few neighbor complaints, even if the closest one is two miles away.

Leave it in a ditch or in the field where you killed it, the crows and magpies need to eat too, and with this snow we got, you can bet that the birds are hungry!

I used to have this neighbor, a real old african american woman who used to buy my yote meat for stew, most the time I just gave it to her.
My uncles (who hunt with hounds) most time fry it over an open fire and feed it to their hounds, a whole lot of work when they' d eat it raw if you ask me, but I suppose if there' s anything wrong with the yote, the cooking' s going to help get rid of it as good as anything.
