steve, what is funny, the dcnr people i talk to HAVE seen COUGAR but PGC people never do....

if you are hunter, raised in big woods here in pa. like most of us are..
came from long line of hunters, 9 uncles andgrandfathers..

i and others were in woods at age 8,yes and shot my first 12...

i agree,i never saw bobcat with that color..
i thought wco i reported mine too would laugh when i said it looked ORANGISH in color, but he did not and even said i described a COUGAR but he said...

it looks like BOBCAT,to meonly because neck is to big for shoulders..
when you see COUGAR,you will notice long neck and small head in between those big shoulders..
1 i saw color was not like...

i did report the sighting to federal gov,they have site set upbut i cant seem to find it right now..
strange thing about it is,sighting seem to be in 1 area for say this summer,then i dont hear...

14 years ago PGC would deny you saw COUGAR,now they say they are released pets..
kind of brings back times when...

most of sighting i hear are almost all near or on dirt roads and almost all are in summer..dont ask me why, i dont know...



what i cant understand is why no tracks are found in snow,at...

i have manyfield DCNR friends,not those ones in harrisburg that walk the talk and almost all of them saw COUGAR while working..

i wonder when someone shoots these cougars that PGC says dont exist,if they THEN claim they are RELEASED PETS..
i bet this will end up in court with PGC saying,YOU SHOT A COUGAR..

douge, in all my posts i never said that i believe that the PGC stocked cougars..

where i am saying they are dishonest is when they tell us that we did not see cougar and dont come out to take...

tracks MAY be there in winter, i dont see any but most are not out in winter,like me..the areas i am in, no sighting ever..

most may not even know what cougar track looks like, even me..

can a religious person lie, YES..i only made this info available because this person is HUNTER like us, he does not lie, grew up with him..

first that picture was taken in keating,pa area..they have been seeing a lion there..

the cougar i saw,was small..the color of him and small head is what i remember most and LONG tail wagging behind..

no way bobcat is even close to looking like what i saw,which was young mountain...

people who think a bobcat looks like a mountain lion, well, they are not in woods enough..

when you see mountain lion,it will have tail at least 2 ft long..it will look like a wip behind cat...

i am in no way saying it was DOG,you may have a mountain lion track..i only gave you idea if it was not a lion ,what i think ,it maybe..

some dogs their toenails stick straight out,labs are one..our dogs dont leave a toenail print in snow..

i am not saying its not mountain lion, you would know, you are out there trapping..but...

mountain lions are hard to get prints but peole are seeing them here in pa..most of sighting are in summer or fall,before we get snow..funny, after it snows, we cant seem to find tracks in snow..
