depends on your backdrop. But I prefer to go at least 20 feet. Yes still use cover scent. I prefer deer herd in a stick by border crossing scents.

Can anyone out there tell me if field dressing and then hanging a harvested deer overnight within 100 yds of tree stand contaminates that area for hunting the rest of the season???
