hey, let me tell everyone something. did u read where Debob(i think) was talking about the 12 pointer that was jumped out of the corn??? well, that deer is 3-4yrs old...mayb older..mayb younger. my point is, they will b there..u just have to put n the time. as we go forward, the deer will be feeding to maintain for the winter and there will b alot of opps.
i was shooting like crap last night...in case anyone cares. i think i was tired from the night b4
we were shooting at a target at 25yds at a Pa shop. the guys were shooting at a deer cardboard target. shooting the kill zone.
to easy...i challenged them to shoot for the eye...not that was fun. we had a target of Van Ladin n there...i tore it up.
did a techno hunt too

Wasn't me talking about a 12 pointer..I think it was Ron. Anyway, got out last night for an evening's hunt. Had 11 does and fawns feeding on fallen acorns and beecchnuts around my stand. Time to open doe season!!!!! Beans are starting to yellow so I think the deer's food source is about to make another change. Corn is really getting cut down this way!! Gonna stick with the oak groves for awhile!!

Well, another quiet evening afield. There was 1 other person in the woods when I arrived at 3pm. When I returned, he was gone and according to the board, he had no luck either. Before I got set up I took my time and looked for sign. It was few and far between. I think I will stay away until the corn is cut. Now that dove season is closed, I may start hunting another public area where people have told me they have been seeing deer. Its better than seeing nothing time after time and its closer to home.
It was warm out there today, hope it gets cooler soon and stays that way.

Didn't heed my own advice Saturday night and hunted a secluded bean field. Saw alot of sign..also saw a few boot tracks near where I hunt. Saw zero...combination of full moon, yellowing beans , and acorns falling elswhere probably contributed most. Oh well...that's hunting!

Ron,
I tried an afternoon hunt since the mornings have been a bust. The car you saw was back in the afternoon. He hunted the same stand morning and night. The only thing that happened to me by hunting the ground and afternoon was I got a heck of alot more skeeter bites!! I'll remember to put bug spray on my gloves next time.
Thinking of going out Wed afternoon. At this point, i'm hoping the corn will be cut by the time the rut kicks in
I did see at least 5 trucks around McKay farm Saturday. Maybe thats a better spot. Of course, i didnt see anyone dragging any deer out. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
