RE: Bear Guides
Here's a few:
www.russellpondcamps.com
www.foggymountain.com
www.southbranchlakecamps.com
www.primetimehunts.com
I've talked with the people at russell pond, they are very professional, and come highly recommended by several bear hunting writers. The others I found when I did a search, thinking about heading to Maine for 2003.

Mt. Man,
I live just minutes from the Park and last year was my first year focusing on bears basically, but I hadn't done enough scouting, etc. I did see one, but did not get a shot. Next year I will be more prepared. In the meantime, I'm going to Quebec in June for a Spring bear hunt. Good Luck in Maine.

You may also want to try mainerec.com/frlodge.html as well. This is a small operation which offers pretty personalized service. Kathy, one of the owners, often posts on a GB's bear hunting forum. From her posts she seems pretty nice.

You may to check what used to be called the Veterans Camp, just southwest of Tupper Lake,
It may be a Boy scout camp now, its been some
time, Also i had Good Luck in The Sargents Pond area, Upper Pond. Got Flown in for 10 days from Inlet. Filled My Tags, Nice 8 pt Buck, and a average Black Bear 200+
Hope to be in the Park this Fall, I sure do MISS the area.
Good luck on your hunt.
