The Deer Hunting regs are out. One of the new regs is concealed carry is allowed while hunting deer, including bow season. Does anyone notice what is wrong with the regs I have pasted below???

In ohio, concealed carry licensees are not required to license or use a specifichandgun. Any legalhandgun can be carried. How can the DNR persecute someone for hunting with a legal (for both hunting and carry) handgun when the regs specifically state that you cannot use a LICENSED handgun.

Lanse, I am not going to tempt fate. It's not worth it if it goes against you. The wording of the regs is wrong. How many times has the DNR used confusing wording like this against people? It cannot even be called a technicality. The wording of "licensed handgun" is something that doesn't even exist in OH. (legally)

The ironic thing is the ODNR doesn't even acknowledge this is worded incorrectly. You cannot outlaw something that doesn't exist, even in Ohio. My problem with the whole thing is a individual is required to know the law while those who write them are ignorant of it.

So don't pull out your concealed handgun and shoot a wild animal. I am confused about what you are confused about. The weapon you are hunting with cannot be concealed. Obviously, this was written for seasons when it would not be legal to shoot an animal with a handgun.

this law allows you to carry concealed while deer hunting and during archery season, which used to be illegal. To the best of my knowledge, the only things you cant hunt with a handgun in Ohio are birds and turkey. All hunting scenarios nowallow legal concealed carry.

1. Why does it matter if the 5 inch revolver you are carrying is the
weapon you decide to shoot the deer with during a legal gun season?

2. Who does it affect if your revolver is concealed? You see me in the
woods during deer gun season and I am sitting under a tree. Do you
think it is wise to consider me armed?

3. There is nothing to be confused about. The law as it is written is not
what was the intended meaning. It says you cannot use a LICENSED
concealed firearm. Even if it is legal for taking game. There are no
licensed concealed carry firearms. When HB347 took effect all local
registration of firearms was voided and there is no state firearm
registration. They may have intended for it to mean the gun you are
carrying concealed but that is not what they said.

4. Untilyou are close to me you could not see the 10" .44 contender I
carry. Why does it matter if I cover itup?

5. Tell me any law where you or I have the discrepancy to intrepret the
meaning or intended meaning of a law? If we follow the common
intrepretation of the words that are written we would usually be OK.
In this case, there are no licensed handguns, which is what the law
says it regulates.

Actually, since there is no specific licensed firearm, that would mean that if you have a CCW permit and you are carrying any firearm it would be a licensed firearm. Get it?

There is nothing on my license that records any firearms info. There is no requirement to train with anything but a handgun. (no air guns)By your logic, I would be unable to hunt with any handgun because it is licensed. The license in ohio does not specify the type of handgun. Obviuosly, the license has nothing to do with long guns.

Licensing and registration is illegal, despite what the gungrabbers say. There is no legal licensing of firearms in Ohio.
