bsa scope oppinions
#11
I had a BSA on my .22 before I knew anything about scopes or optics. Just picked it because it was cheap. I got rid of it after a couple of weeks and got a better quality scope. It just wasn't clear to the edge and was a bit distorted. I'm definetly not a BSA fan.

I would rather use open sights than use a BSA scope on a deer rifle. On a pellet rifle or a .22 then its a different story but on a deer rifle, you are better off having no sights at all. My cousin had a 3-9x50 BSA deer hunter on his 7mm mag and the first shot busted the crosshairs. He sent it back to BSA because they said they would send him a new scope but what he got back was the same scope he busted.
The only thing a BSA is actually good for is driving nails. And small ones at that!

Actually high powered springerair rifles are harder on scopes than most high powered rifles because they recoil in two directions.
BSA is decent for a pellet gun, but hunting rifles need optics that are up to the task.

I have to agree w/ red allison on this one, I've got one on my 223 for prairie gogd and it suck, doesnt do the savage rifle justice at all. Its fuzzy and has a yellow "Haze" when looking through it. I think it'll hold up on my rifleok since its a 223 and weighs 10plus lbs, but I'm also getting a new one soon.

red allison, I also workin the industry with one of the larger wholesale distributors in the us, i will call you soon to see if i can send you a catalogue. yes it is awsome for the reps to come in with ruger, berreta, code blue, wildlife research, tom wiley, smith and wesson, bushmaster and etc.being in sales i am able to meet most any of the manu comp. and the reps that are in the industry. next month i will be going to ms. and helping many of them put on a deer expo for one of my accounts. now back to bsa, many of my dealers love bsa because their customers bring the scopes back in for repair. spend yourmoney on goodoptics.

Dano do you work for AccuSport, Henrys etc???
I can't fathom liking my customers coming back with a broken scope. They are NOT happy with me when they come back with broken equipment despite the fact that I tried to tell them that it was a POS to begin with and that I didn't build it I only sell them. IMHO there are better ways to get them back in the store than with faulty equipment!

red allison sorry about the comment about the dealers liking bsa. I was only being sarcastic.you are correct dealers do not like for a customer to come back angry with a broken scope. i only meant that someone somewhere will be working on the scope sooner or later.

Ive tried the BSA junk in the past and it is just that. I have a scope on a 270 that is put out by Cabelas called Trecker and so far its ok for a cheaper scope. Im looking in to a new scope in the future and will be going with either Nikon, Burris, or Leupold.
