Actually high powered springerair rifles are harder on scopes than most high powered rifles because
they recoil in two directions.
Partly correct , lower power springers do , the 900-1,200 FPS crowd have springs that exert more than enough force to cancel rearward recoil . I have a 1,000 FPS model , and it physically tries to leap out of my grasp , shoulder impact is nonexistant . This class is brutal on optics .
