i think its all in how you take care of the meat. we cant hang the meat to let it age down here, so i leave it in a cooler with ice for a few days. every day drain the bloody water out and replace with fresh ice. works for me.

True I have eaten some 180 pound FEMALE hogs that were pretty darn good. Those big boar trophys people like to shoot are just rank. Even if I leave them in my cooler for a few days on ice they wont even make decent sausage.

I was told just yesterday by L.E.that when hunting private land , the landowner can hunt without a license only if they are homesteaded on that property.
If they arent homesteaded, or if you are renting/leasing the land, you have to have one.Yes, we were talking about deer hunting but i'd make sure before hunting anything.
I agree with the boar meat being good if you prepare it right...i've had one nasty hog, and thats because i didn't know what i was doing.....
