Florida turkey question
Do any of you folks have experience or advice on these WMA's?
Camp Blanding, Caravelle Ranch, Fort Drum, Half Moon, Lake George (Dexter-Mary Farm Unit), or Richloam (Baird Unit).
I'm planning a FL & AL spring turkey hunt to coinciude with a family reunion. Any advice would be helpful.

RE: Florida turkey question
First thing is to check and make sure your not looking at quota hunts only on the wma's you mentioned. Second the competition will be high! Third, wma birds don't acted like other birds off non-pressured land. "they don't talk much after that first weekend" Lastly, get your scouting in a couple of weeks before the opener and patteren a couple of different birds so you'll have options in case your first bird is being hunted by other hunters on opening morning. Its almost better to scout where the other hunters might be planning to hunt. I hunt three lakes wma. Last years harvest was a good one. This spring however may be off. I havn't seen as many birds, not sure why although I did see a pack of five coyotes this year chasing deer in the area I hunt in. Lots of luck and be safe out there. <img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>
