I am trying to pattern my 870 for turkey problems and I keep shooting low and to the right. I am shooting a 870 Magnum with a 3" load and super full turkey choke. Every time I shoot it goes low and right, so I change the sights to compensate for the error and it makes no difference. Any idea as to why this may be occurring?

Contact your local Remington authorized service center. I bought an 870 new a few years ago with the same problem and took it to the local authorized gunsmith. Remington replaced the barrel as it was slightly bent. I couldn't see this with my naked eye.

Two things you can do.
1. Take control of the situation and get some good Hi Viz or Tru glow adjustable turkey sights. Thats if you like the pattering of that barrel. I put on this Tri Viz sights this year and really like them.
2. Change chokes. Remington chokes are not much IMO when it comes to turkey. Mad chokes, and many more make top quality chokes and can and will change your POI in alot of cases.
3. Talk to Remington, go thru big hassle, and still may not get it resolved.

In this order:
1. Change shells and see if something different will pattern different (you'd be suprised how different the size of shot, amount of powder, type of wad, ect can change a pattern).
2. Try a different choke tube (before buying a new "turkey choke" try shooting with your regular "modified" or "full" choke. If they pattern in the same area (with a slightly larger pattern) go on to #3. If they pattern well, you could use it, or then try a new turkey choke.
3. Get a new barrel or have a gunsmith straighten yours. Bent barrels are quite common.

I would either go with a set of sights or a mount and a red dot .
Of all the shotguns I saw at the range this year before turkey season maybe 1 shot POA.
