I am trying to pattern my 870 for turkey problems and I keep shooting low and to the right. I am shooting a 870 Magnum with a 3" load and super full turkey choke. Every time I shoot it goes low and right, so I change the sights to compensate for the error and it makes no difference. Any idea as to why this may be occurring?
90% of shotgun barrels will not be right on target. Look at the patterniing in all the mags.
Two things you can do.
1. Take control of the situation and get some good Hi Viz or Tru glow adjustable turkey sights. Thats if you like the pattering of that barrel. I put on this Tri Viz sights this year and really like them.
2. Change chokes. Remington chokes are not much IMO when it comes to turkey. Mad chokes, and many more make top quality chokes and can and will change your POI in alot of cases.
3. Talk to Remington, go thru big hassle, and still may not get it resolved.
