I am Now looking for opinions on the savage
110 and 111 Pakage with scope. What Kind of scope are they using and is it any good. What about the 110 or 111 by itself. How does it perform?

The packages come with a Simmons 3X9 scope. Not the worst I have seen, but there are alot better scopes out there. It will serve the purpose though if you don't expect too much out of it. The rifle on the other hand is one of the best kept secrets in the firearms industry. Probably the most accurate out of the box rifle made, and at a very reasonable price. The difference between the 110 and the 111 is the synthetic stock on the 111.

The Savage packages are ususally priced in a VERY COMPETITIVE way, even considering the marginal scopes they usually stick on those packages (Cheap Simmons and Tascos usually) The thing is they will shoot great right out of the box and you can always upgrade that scope later. The scope you will receive will surley last a season and that gives you a year to save for a better scope.

My Savage 110 .30-06 package gun came with a Bushnell 3-9x32 and the scope has done fine for 2 deer seasons. I am more than impressed with the accuracy of the rifle.

I have owned a Savage 110E with synthetic stock for about 6 years now and have yet to experience any problems.Accuarcy is outstanding right out of the box.Dollar for dollar you can't find a better rifle.Mine was not one of the package guns but it now carries a Simmons Aetec and produces sub 1" groups at 100yrds.I would not hesitate to buy a Savage.Trigger pull is crisp and easily adjusted.

Both the 111 and 110 come in synthetic stock versions. From what I could glean from their website the only difference is that the 111 has a pillar bedded stock while the 110 does not. This theoretically should make the 111 more accurate. The packages around here come with a Simmons "8 point" 3x9 power scope.

I personally do not own a 110, but I was looking at them pretty hard when I bought my deer rifle. I didn't think that the action felt as smooth as my ruger's, or nearly as smooth as rem., but if a guy takes care of it the way any rifle should be, you'd never have any problem with them. It's a great, fairly inexpensive rifle. I don't know what scopes they come with, but it's likely to be a wally world cheapo, but I'm sure that it's 4x, so you could at least hunt it until you could afford a better one, upgrading is what rifles are all about, buy what you can when you can, in the end you'll have a perfect rifle. I checked Savage's site last night.Does anybody have a 111 (11F) in 223 Rem.If so what kind of accuracy are you getting?I want to get a Bolt 223 Rem but don't want to sell the house to get it.I think it would be a good coyote gun.Thanks for any comments. Ruger Redhawk

I don't know about the new models being made now, but I had one of the older ones in a 243 cal. and it would shoot with my model 700 target rifle for about 4 shots, excellent guns for the money if the news ones are anything like the older ones.
