I had three such experiences:

- A Model 700 .243 for $293(5 years ago) - I just sold it to Gander Mountain for $263

- A Remington Model 1100 20ga LT (mint condition) for $300

- A Marlin 336C for $100 (good condition)

My best buy was a Husqvarna Model 8000 with a Leupold Vari X 2 2X7 scope on it. Price was $225.00. That was in 1976 though. Still have the gun, will never willingly part with it. It is a 30/06, and can push a 180 gr. bullet @ 2850 and 165 @ 3000 without pressure signs, and the chamber is actually a little on the small side. The only smoother bolt action I ever worked was a Colt Sauer.
