Thanks guys. OK, I'm cheering for you all as loud as I can - go get 'em. Carp, close call on that buck; maybe he'll come to you again.
Beagle, your season is almost over then?
Oneida, some snow is always nice. The bucks here have started rutting in earnest and I've seen 7 with or looking for does since Saturday.

Look,I've known for years that I'm basically an idiot,so thats the reason I'm using for this misunderstanding about the contest "rules".
I thought that only bucks that scored in P&Y (125in. min.) would be counted. After looking at the posted pictures,I see thats not the case.
Am I the only one who thought this way?If so,Please refer to the first sentence of this post...Bob

Well this weekend really will be it for me, we do have a december archery season, but I might not have any chance to get out then. Monday starts the opener of firearms season here and that really puts the bucks into stealth mode. Later and good luck guys.

Congrats on the fine deer Canuck! Unfortunately, both times I was able to get out the past week were beyond slow. High winds didn't help anything during the week. Sunday was perfect, and I went back to one of my early season spots with my ML. My plan was to sit for a while and if nothing, scout out some fresh sign to hang my stand by next time out with the bow. After seeing nothing move for a few hours, I decided to look for some fresh sign, and there was NONE to be had! Looks like I'll be changing locations again... Beagle, if you have any recipes for tag soup, please share. I may need them.

Trestand, I think I see the source of your confusion. The scoring rules are simply those of the Pope & Young method but the bucks can be of any size. So if your deer scores less than the 125 minimum needed to get in the P&Y book, that's OK. Whatever the score is, it counts for the purpose of this friendly little contest. Now go get us a big one!

Well guys.....I am gonna all but throw in my hat for this bow season, I found out that on my good bow hunting property that I will no longer be allowed to hunt it. The landowner decided to lease it for the upcoming rifle season and asked me to remove my stands and not hunt it any longer...[:@]....this has to be my worst season ever!!! I will be bowhunting saturday one last time on another farm that is does or monsters only for me so I really hope to stick a doe, but maybe I'll get lucky and a biggun will step out for me! Good luck to evryone else, and after sat i will be gearing up for probaly one of the biggest rifle openers in this country. All the yahoos will be out monday unfortunately, it is so big here that most businesses close for the day.

I feel for you. That's a bunch of BS. Don't give up though. Hunt during the riffle season with your bow. Go into very thick places or very small sections. Most of these places get over looked and don't forget neighborhoods.

I wish you luck and hope you can pull one out for your team.

Dang, Carp, that sucks. I do hope you get a nice fat one on that alternate property, whether it be buck or doe. It would be a shame to end the season without stocking up the freezer. And good luck finding a new spot for next year.
