Got home last night from my moose hunt, which was excellent. Seriously tough snow conditions but we got a bull. There were lots of hunters but only one other camp had a moose in it when we left.
Now I can concentrate on local deer. Still unpacking and that will take most of the day, I guess. When I went out to feed the horses this morning, I saw a nice 4 pt (stuck in my ways - that's western count) out in the neighboring hay field. Then a short time later there was another at least 4 pt on the hill behind my house with 2 or 3 does. They have started to rut in earnest, it seems.

OK gang, I've broke the ice. Now lets see the flood gates open for our team. I scored on a - OK, I'll call him an 8 point (that's a 4 pt out here
)
Picture is in the official scoring thread. I put a sneak on him as he paid attention to a couple does, but he helped out by coming right toward me. He stopped broadside at 22 yd and I double lunged him without him even knowing I was there. Ran 45 yards and piled up.

Congrats canuck!!!!!!! I was very excited to see your name on the score thread!!! I was so dang close to getting a good one last night but he turned his rear towards me as I drew my bow, he was only a 4 point but he was probably 15" wide with good mass and about 8' top tines with no brows. I am getting fairly desperate here!!!
