Thanks for all of the kind words guys. I just got done braving the cold and measuring the buck. He turns out to score 139 4/8's. Not bad for a VA Buck!

Mike that has to be one of the best hunting stories I have read in a long time. I hope were all still around when your son puts generation number three on the wall and you share with us once again. That right there my friend is what it’s all about.

Congrats and that is a dandy of a buck!! Did your farther in-law used to hunt deer? or is this his first experience? Also, what CB did you use? Once again, congrats on the very nice deer!

Thanks for all of the kind words guys. He shot the buck with a Horton 175 that has a red dot scope on it. He used Carbon Express Bolts and a Muzzy 100 broadhead. My FIL grew up out west hunting Blacktails and has been hunting a long time. I think it was more about filling the freezer when he was young than about antlers. My son will be 10 in Feb. and I am getting him in the woods a little this season. He may get lucky in the next couple of weeks. He can shoot the same crossbow pretty well. He just needs a stand to help him support the weight. I'll try to put him on a buck next week.
