You are probably right, who knows how many times ive actually been busted . 3 times for sure, staired right into the eyes of the beast. They never made any movements like they winded me? the prevailing wind is 90% of the time in my face. Its like as soon as they step out of the wood line they know im there?

They have you figured out. Deer can and will check stands, and they have you patterned. Time to move your stand or put up a new one. Personally, I like a ground blind this time of the year. Good luck.

Walk down to where you are seeing the deer come out and bust you. Look back at your stand and see if anything strange jumps out. The sun may be hitting something that is catching thier attention and focusing on your location.

I was busted in my stand twice this year. Once when I stood up right at last light after trying to call in a doe and a week later by what I believe to be the same doe. Again over calling was the primary cause.
I had a heck of a time getting into one of my stands this year. I kept jumping deer after deer. I changed my routes and still kicked them up. It got to the point it as almost comical. Next fall I plan to have at least two well trimmed out routes to all my stands and I'm going to have to rethink my approach better.

Never never never make eye contact with a whitetail or wild animal in general. You ever do this to a dog? This will put them in defense mode, it is like a chalenge and they are gone. I've had very close encounters with deer while bowhunting and always at the least squint your eyes so they do not get the full view.

Welcome to the boards.....it could be the burlap you mentioned. It might look like a "blob" from a distance. You shouldn't be getting busted from 80 yards out.
Is it possibly the wind? Are you hunting the same stand in all wind conditions? A deer can pick you off from that distance with their nose if the wind is right and you haven't taken the right scent control steps.
