Welcome to the boards.....it could be the burlap you mentioned. It might look like a "blob" from a distance. You shouldn't be getting busted from 80 yards out.

Is it possibly the wind? Are you hunting the same stand in all wind conditions? A deer can pick you off from that distance with their nose if the wind is right and you haven't taken the right scent control steps.
