i was just wondering what it looks like around your stands. mine isnt in the greatest place, but its too small a section to be picky. there are a couple of slanted half fallen tree's about 30 yards in front of me, blocking my view from everying farther than 35 yrds. untill at least the leaves fall. there are a couple of holes that i could spot through but a deer will be able to sneak up pretty easily if i dont hear it. also, right below me its wide open except one or two bare trees. i've got a nice hole to my right though that looks out into an opening in the corn field, i'd rather take the shot there if i could, easier to draw back undetected.

Height in the tree will help you after the leafs fall. Don't be afraid to hunt small confined areas. If it's thick the deer come through way more relaxed. you only need a small shooting lane to kill a deer. Have you been up the tree yet. Spots look different once your elevated. Use your scents to get the deer to stop in the right place to offer a shot. Also a good way to get scent to a location without walking up to it is to put some on a stick and toss it over to the spot.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Thanks fieldmouse, you just helped me immensely. I was wondering how I could put scent out without walking through the area in front of my stand. I've gone to great lengths to make a concealed entrance to it and it was puzzling me how I could put out a lure without showing my position.
