Then people began griping that they advertise IBO speeds but won't warranty their bows at IBO minimums. Some manufacturers said okay and did the warranty. Now folks are griping about bow prices. Well, now you gotta pay for that 5 grains per pound warranty.
I've been saying that for years. That's why we have so many companies with such "great customer service". It's because you are paying for it in the cost of the products.

So, please do not say IBO recommends shooting 5 grains per pound. Okay?
Holy crap! I had no idea that's how it all started....though I had my assumptions! How about this: 5gpp is generally the minimum accepted arrow weight.....and you can't shoot and IBO tourney with anything less than 5gpp?

In all serousness, thanks for explaining that!

So will shooting 5 grains per pound for a long time wear your bow?

O.K. Deer Hunter, to sum it up for you since your shooting at 70 lbs. your total arrow weight should be 420 grains ( 70 x 6 gr. ppw ). Total arrow weight includes inserts, fleching, tips, nocks and arrow. Now if your draw length is greater then 30" you should increase to 7 gr. ppw. but the best way to calulate your proper arrow weight is to go to BowJackson.com. I hope this helps.

ArthurP, great job of explaining this. I just saved it for future use. I hope no copyright laws are involved.
