If you range an animal at 30 yards at a 45 deg angle to you, the horizontal distance is 21.2 yards
Thats only if you are 20 yds up a tree.....thats 60 ft[][][]

Normal huntign heights usually only yield a yard or two difference between hor and vert diff.

But I get your point though it is exaggerated to the extreme

In average treestand situation 20yd pin would do the job (with proper shooting form) ???
