Cyclone...?????? I'm a-confused. What does-a breaking the wind have to do with arrow flight??????????????? And ole Daniel used to lick his finger so he wouldn't accidently Pee into the wind(nothing to do with bows and arrows). He just wanted to smell good when he got back to Molly or Polly or whatever her name was.

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quotequote:
FROM: BRUCE LEE "JEETKUNEDO" Martial art is like any art, is an expression of the human being, some expressions have flavor, some are logical(perhaps under certain required situations), but most martial arts are the mere performing of a sort of mechanical repetition of a fixed pattern. This is unhealthy because to live is to express and to express you have to create. Creation is never merely repetion. Remember well my friend that all styles are man-made and man is always more important than any styles. Styles concludes. Man grows.

This quote may seem off topic in this forum, but when you think about the growth of archery over the years, there had to be thought prevoking people, that made changes in archery and equipment. We always have little debates about archery, equipment ect. Sometimes we should think why we like archery and how we got where we are with archery. I think VC1111
quote was reasonable to say the least, it makes you think about things rather then looking at a fixed pattern where no growth is involved. As a person, archer, husband, wife, father, mother, if you don't allow things to flow (ESECIALLY WITH FREESTYLE OR OLYMPIC ARCHERY) you get stuck in a rut and stagnate. Just a few thoughts, I figured I would throw into the mix of this topic.
good shooting.

RE: Thus the arrow cannot really fly
Now hold on... If we are considering the rotation of the earth, what about the fact that it circumnavigates the sun in a 1 year period. So, if you are shooting with the earths orbit your arrow speed will increas, as if you are shooting against the orbit it will decrease. Cyclone, could you please do the math, I want to know the affect of the orbit on my arrow. Hey right at sun up I am on the leading edge of the earth, does that explain why I shoot low in the morning? Or is that why its so hard to get out of bed?

I'm with Mouse, you all need to lay off the fletch-tite!
Now, do we need to compensate as much, being on the north slope of Alaska, since the speed of rotation isn't as fast because we are on a smaller plane of rotation than you southern boys?
At any given instant, the arrow is where it is, however, at any given moment, the arrow is a long ars way from where it just was.
What was will always be, what is we'll always see.

not.

Mine ain't in a deer's rib cage at the moment so I'm gonna go see if I can put it there!

You know I hate to see this slip into oblivion, so I will pose this thought to ponder. Do you give consideration to humidity and air density in your shots? Think about it, you live in Va. and practice every day at an altitude of 34 ft above sea level and the relative humidity varies from 60-99% humidity for an entire year to prepare for that once in a life time mule deer hunt in the rockies. Okay now you have a far lower humidity range and obviously at this high of an altitude the air density is far less than in Va. Do you give these variables any consideration?

But TAZMAN: All the hot air coming off the politicians in close proximity to Virginia causes rising air currents that would offset any effects of denser, more humid air. Your theory is in the Error(AIR).
