Your longest honest shot
#31
The longest shot I ever took at a deer was 32 yds. I thought it was closer (25-26) & the deer actually ducked down into my arrow & made for a perfectly placed shot. After that I have a couple known yardage shots around 24-25, a couple at 20-22 and the vast majority at under 17 yds.
A few weeks ago I took a later ranged 48 yard shot at a spike bull elk. I shot for 45 and my arrow deflected off a limb.

I would shoot a relaxed buck at 40 yards. I shoot a Hoyt Katera at 70lbs. My pins are set at 25,40,60,&80. 60 & 80 are just for fun target shooting. I shoot probally 50 arrows every day during my lunch break. We have to take an hour and it takes about 5 minutes to eat. The furthest actual shot I have ever taken at a deer is 20 yards although. Set up is key.

My longest shot is 42 yards on a doe a few years back. That was the only deer I have ever shot at over 30. I made a gook shot and she didn't go far at all. My average shot is like 14 yards BUT given the right circumstances I would shoot out to 50 yards.
