Your longest honest shot
 

Lets see what everyone feels is there longest honest maximum shot. The scenario is the buck is standing broadside in a field and you are 15 feet up in the treestand. Remember I said honest.

I'll go first. I use a Mathews Drenalin set at 55lbs. I use a one pin pendulum sight set for 28 yds. My max is 37 yds. I would need to aim for the top of the back and let it drop into the kill zone.

My longest shot so far has been 27 yards. Made lots of shots in the 15 yard range.

Longest shot I have taken and made a kill is 34 yards. I don't believe I would take that same shot today. I feel increasingly uncomfortable after 30 yards.

I have made most of my bow kills at under 20 yards. But have killed 2 deer at 40+.

i get good penetration out to 45 yards, feel uncomfortable any further

my furthest bow kill was at 31yds. i would feel comfortable shooting a buck standing broadside in a field at 45yds. I shoot a mathews ovation, 31 inch draw length at 70lbs, 100grain broadhead with easton epic 300 carbon arrows. I feel that this set up will produce good enough kinetic energy to kill cleanly at that range.

My farthest shot was 38 yards. Most shots are 20 and under...

Probably in the 40 yard range.. My bottom pin, pretty typical really..
