Rob,it may very well be the energy coming from the bow at the shot or even at impact doing a number on the nock.It is packing a pretty good punch.
I agree, especially when the electronics are not supported inside a larger diameter arrow. In a carbon the nock opening is continuous, in the 2413's with unibushing the diameter of the arrow after the bushing isn't supporting the electronics.

Think that's the issue. I would think it would need a bigger Oring on the electronics for a larger diameter shaft but then it wouldn't fit in the unibushing. The unibushing would need taken out, nock installed, oring added and unibushing reinstalled with the nock.

Can't see that happening.

How tough would it be to take the unibushing out Rob? I believe this is going to be the only thing that is going to work with any of the lighted nocks you choose(firenock,tracer,g5,archers flame) they are all going to have the electronics somewhat bouncing around!?! I believe so??

I thought I'd resurrect this thread because of my initial first impression. The first one I had failed, was it user error? Did I forsce it into the shaft and mess it up?

As Stated Cabelas replced them free of charge and let me keep the one good one I had out of the 2 pack.

I've been shooting them since this thread started. All 3 still work flawlessly. I'm very impressed dispite my early failure.

Len and I played with the lighted nocks. We just couldn't get any consistancey from them, at least not enough to justifying spending the money on them. They'd work, they wouldn't, they would. He called, did what they said, they'd work, they wouldn't. We just canned the idea. We aim to hit where we aim so don't worry about seeing a pretty glowing light flying through the air... or not.

But David they are so cool and #2 if you do hit where you aim an the goal of a total pass-thru is achieved, wouldn't a blinkinglite help your old eyes find the arrow?

I finally got a reply from Easton as well. They replied to my email I sent them with a very well written description, critique what I thought the issue might have been and all I got in return was a generic email that responded this way. At least they said they'd replace it once I send it in. I'll do just that tomorrow:

Rob, I apologize for the problems that you are experiencing. The Tracer Nock has been very reliable up to this point in all testing and all arrow shafts. Unfortunately, with any small electronics, sometimes small problems occur. This is especially true with a brand new product. If you would like to sent the nock in for inspection, I would be happy to replace it upon arrival. Please send to: Easton 5040 Harold Gatty Drive Salt Lake City, UT 84116 ATTN: Cody Please respond with any more questions or concerns. Thank You, Tech Support
