Tracer Nock, Update (poof done).

Wow, I can't believe all the problems you guys are having. I tested mine out and all 6 worked fine. You all have me thinking now and I want to go test them again.

Nor have I got a response from Easton but I kinda figured that. Back a week or a week and a half ago when we were first talking about these someone asked if they made a tracer for ACC's, not seeing anything listed I emailed the same address and still no response on that e-mail either.

When I emailed them about my Tracer problem, they got back to me in two days! I am also waiting on a reply as well, I will let you know if I hear from them.

On a better note. I broke out the second one tonight. Probably shot it 10-12 times with no problems lit every-time.
This one slipped in the shaft snug but much easier than the 1st one did.

Ben / PA gave me a call and said he was headed up his cabin to check his trail camera and asked if I wanted to go along. Sure I did and we checked the cams.
Well back at the house we checked the cards and on one card there was a real decent buck....but on to the Tracer Nock.
We went into my basement do to the bad weather and I showed Ben the nock.
I took a shot and sure enough, it lit. Cool.
I then shot it out of the General (no magnet) and it lit fine!
Okay, again on the General, it lit (no magnet). Cool I'm thinking it's fixed.
Shot it from the 82nd, no light.
I heard a noise in the arrow, rattle, and honestly I think it's a faulty nock. It then wouldn't unlight, then it wouldn't turn on at all other than blink. I shot it and it did nothing and then all of a sudden it started blinking in the target.
Here is my thoughts. The S nock (Tracer) is made to fit all the production carbon arrows. It also says it fits any Easton with the unibushing taking the S nock. HOWEVER, when inserting it in the 2413 unibushing, the electronics part of the nock is now free floating in this big diameter 2413. I don't think it can take the smashing this arrow does when it hits the targets.
I'm writing Easton to inquire because now, it does nothing. I run it by the magnet and it starts to flash, I cannot deactivate it or anything. If it wasn't bad before, it is now. Honestly, since they claim it fits all unibushing Easton arrows, that's somewhat misleading because yes it fits, but it's not going to last. I'll be curious to what they have to say.

On the nock....cool idea as long as it is just a defective one. I concur with Rob's theory on the large diameter arrow end. I am not sure if it can be shook off as " well the 82nd is just too much bow for this nock" because I think that easton would have tested this type of thing with all of the speed bows out there today.

On the subject of the buck, Rob was disapointed to find that the deer in question had both sides of his rack. He also added that he hoped that it was an aggessive buck, prone to fighting, so that he may end up being a candidate for Rob's next mount.

Rob,it may very well be the energy coming from the bow at the shot or even at impact doing a number on the nock.It is packing a pretty good punch.

Think that's the issue. I would think it would need a bigger Oring on the electronics for a larger diameter shaft but then it wouldn't fit in the unibushing. The unibushing would need taken out, nock installed, oring added and unibushing reinstalled with the nock.
Can't see that happening.
